Originally named Kazaa Lite, this application has evolved into Kazaa Lite K++, in order to preserve its right to run its offerings in the virtual world. Since there is a lot of controversy surrounding the copyright infringement issues regarding its predecessor, most software distributors are now preferring the ++ name, than just Kazaa Lite.

Although admittedly, Kazaa Lite K++ is an unauthorized version of KMD or Kazaa Media Desktop, more and more World Wide Web users are actually favoring this application because of three simple reasons; and that would be:

The ++ versions also have these so-called memory patchers that can: remove multi-source limits; remove search limit restrictions; and set the highest possible user participation at the maximum of 1,000 levels.

Similar to the original KMD, the ++ version also carry almost the same network connections, particularly the FastTrack protocol. This means that KMD users and Kazaa Lite K++ users can exchange files with no technical hitches attached. This is the biggest difference the ++ version has against other file sharing applications, like Ares Galaxy, BearShare and LimeWire. These aforementioned file-sharing applications cannot gain access to the KMD network, and therefore, users cannot have a peer-to-peer sharing without buying or installing more specialized software packages.

Furthermore, the Kazaa Lite K++ application allows its users to customize the actual program using magnet links and its wide range of software tools.

Malware Free: all that malware (malicious software) from its predecessor is fortunately not part of the application package for the ++ versions. KMD certainly suffered heavy losses when it was discovered that the applications they were offering were using encryptions to deliver adware, spyware and unwarranted advertisements to its unsuspecting clients. Naturally, this is a valid concern among Internet practitioners who invest a lot of time and money to block these out; only to have a “legitimate” program installing malware, instead.
